For awhile now, I have been wanting to post some recipes that I have, that are my family favs. I subscribe to a few blogs that have the most delicious things. I’ll start with my awesome sister-in-law Alynn! She was just recently on Good Things Utah, and she did such a wonderful job! Click HERE to go to her site. Then there is THIS ONE. Go there and search Cafe Rio. YUMMY! And then, there is THIS ONE. They also have some great recipes!
So, anyways, I’m starting my own recipe blog. I am by far not as great as these mentioned above, but I have a few that my family likes. So I would like to share them with you.
So here it is…..Eggs Golden Rod! My mother made it for us when I was a child. Her mother made it for her, and I really don’t know how many generations it goes, but I now make it for my family, and it is their most favorite breakfast!!
Ingredients:
- 6-8 hard boiled eggs
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3 cups milk (I use 1 can of evaporated milk and 1 cup of water. Then more regular milk to thin.)
- 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
I boil my eggs while I am making the sauce.
Melt butter and mix in flour. Add milk. Heat until almost to a boil. It will thicken. Add Salt and Pepper. Dice the eggs and add to sauce. Serve over toast.
We like to break our toast up. It makes it easier to eat! Hope you like it !
